Who We Are
Priority Paediatrics is a team of private Paediatric Emergency Specialists and General Paediatricians working together to provide high-quality, timely care for children across Adelaide and South Australia.
We understand that there are times when your child needs prompt medical attention, but a visit to the Emergency Department may not be necessary. Our Rapid Access Team offers fast and accessible appointments with experienced paediatricians for urgent, non-critical concerns. Many of our specialists also work at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide.
For urgent concerns, in-clinic appointments with our Rapid Access Team are generally available within 7 days, while Telehealth appointments are often available within 1–2 days, and sometimes sooner.
If a GP has concerns and feels that a child needs to be seen on the same day, we keep a limited number of appointments available at Priority Paediatrics in North Adelaide to accommodate urgent referrals.
Rapid Access appointments are available for children referred by their General Practitioner or a local Emergency Department. Families may also choose to self-refer to access an appointment sooner. Please note that without a valid referral, a Medicare rebate will not be available for the consultation.
In addition to our Rapid Access service, Priority Paediatrics offers a broad range of paediatric services, including general paediatric consultations, behavioural and developmental assessments, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments, ADHD assessments, and care for a wide range of paediatric concerns.
